Visci Tools polaroid image

Early on in the VISCI Tools project, we wanted to create a visual demo where images are loaded based on discussions in the virtual environment of Second Life. The demo was created for the Tekes TILA-seminar. In the demo, text chat was logged and pictures were loaded from Flickr and converted as Polaroid-images with the corresponding keywords.

To quickly generate the visually appealing polaroid images, we modified an existing  polaroid image class for PHP that was available under open source GPL-license.

Later on we created a demo for our case company, where content submitted with a mobile phone was visualized using the same modified polaroid-class.

The demos worked great, and now we have finally gone through the new code, added support for apache/PHP in windows-platform and released the modified version on Google Code. Anyone can use the code and modify it under the GPL license. The project page for the “polaroider”-class can be found here.
